More than you've ever wanted to know about the show.
Absurdity Check is a series of short video projects that offer an absurdist, 'slice of life' look at a group of five twenty-somethings sharing a house in the suburbs of Toronto.

We originally conceived of the idea as a way for us to gain more experience in the field of amateur filmmaking. By anchoring the series in a world that we're familiar with and have unrestricted access to, it serves as a way for us to write what we know and also keep costs down. In fact, many of the plots and situations the characters find themselves mired in are inspired by our real-life experiences and indeed even the characters are based loosely on ourselves, people we know, or amalgams thereof.

The episodes have as few creative constraints as possible, meaning that there is no subject too taboo and no reference too obscure. We also did away with technical constraints such as a set runtime for each episode, a fixed release schedule and the number of episodes per season (In fact, we even did away with the seasonal structure entirely). Basically, this allows us to do what we want, when we want and for however long we want to do it. Sweet deal!
